Dakota War

This documentary is about the Dakota War of 1862 and the 150th anniversary. There are interviews with Dan Spock, Director of the Minnesota Historical Society. Ian Lilligren, a Minnesota Historical Society Researcher and Sheldon Wolfchild, a Dakota filmmaker and activist. They all tell the story of the uprising of the Dakota people and the United States government's part in the war. The first half of the video is about the MN Historical Society and their exhibit about the 150th anniversary. The last past is about how the Dakota survived the War and the 38 men who were hanged. This video focuses on the outcome of the war and hidden facts never taught or told in the past.
